What is Body Stress Release — (BSR)?
BODY STRESS RELEASE is a non-therapeutic complementary health profession. It is concerned with assisting the body to release stored tension, thereby allowing it to maximise its in-built ability to maintain and heal itself. This technique has been developed and practised in South Africa since 1981.
Body stress can be caused by mechanical, mental & emotional or chemical reasons. Stress becomes locked into physical structures when the body fails to adapt to an overload of stress. This may result in pain, stiffness, numbness and postural distortions. In addition the body's capacity to co-ordinate its functions is undermined.
Body Stress Release is a gentle procedure in which areas of body stress are located, using the body as a biofeedback mechanism. The practitioner assists the body to release the tension by applying light but definite pressure to the sites of body stress.

What is Body Stress?
Body stress is locked-in tension stored in the body. It can occur in any physical structure and is not limited to muscles. It can and does also affect the nerves and other tissues of the body.
What are the effects of Body Stress?
BSR clients have experienced relief from many problems including: headaches & migraines, sinus congestion, neck & shoulder pain, hand numbness and pain, breathing difficulties, indigestion & heartburn, backache, painful menstruation, hot flushes, leg cramps, foot pain, sports injuries, burning feet, numb thighs, lack of concentration to name a few. Hyperactive children have also shown improvement.
